The
Stompin' Hooley band consist of four talented and highly experienced
musicians drawn from a wide background of musical styles who play
rootsy music with energy, skill and plenty of rhythm on a combination
of fiddle, guitar, bass, drums, synthesisers and percussion –
plus a caller of enormous experience, humour and sensitivity.
Dick
Walker
The
'old man' of the band. He's seen more Barn Dances than
enough and played at them all.
The
band's guitarist and caller - much experience and many years.
Dave
Young
The
Stompers melody man. A seasoned Sheffield session musician with
a vast experience of music and bands. He can play any style you
might want and leads the band with sensitivity and skill.
Bill
Walker
Bass
man and baby of the band. The poor soul is Dick's son so has had
traditional music filling his ears since before birth. He cut
his teeth to the playing of Dave Swarbrick and Martin Carthy.
Really he wanted to play heavy rock or blues but his dad wont
let him - so he's joined us
Chris
Jackson
Drums
and Bodrhan. The ryhthmic boost of the band. An eclectic
experience of rock, jazz, brass bands, latin and folk.
